We are a small charity with big ambition whose purpose is to advance education across the Commonwealth.
Over our 10-year history we have invested in educational projects with long term impact across a wide spectrum of activities including research, children’s literature, teacher development and schools.
Our primary focus now is on supporting teacher development in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.
Foundations of Teaching for Learning is a comprehensive foundation level teacher training programme made up of eight MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) that is delivered on the Coursera platform. The courses are led by educationalists from universities across the Commonwealth. Reflection, peer assessment and forum discussions are key aspects of the courses.
Our online courses have been successful but we need to reach the areas with the lowest levels of quality provision. Research shows student centred learning can increase academic achievement. We want to help teachers to transform their learning environments from teacher led to student centred, to improve the quality of education and prepare their students to succeed in their future lives and careers.
Our Teach2030 programme combines valuable content from our MOOCs with local facilitation and collaboration. It is being piloted in South Africa and will be transferable across the Commonwealth.
